I just wish I had known a little earlier, says Taapsee Pannu on being dropped from Pati, Patni Aur Woh remake

Actress Taapsee Pannu has spoken up on her recent parting of ways with Mudassar Aziz’s Pati Patni Aur Woh remake. In a quote to tabloid Mumbai Mirror, the actress revealed that she learned the news from ‘others’ rather than the makers about being dropped from the project.

Pannu stated that she was present at the narration and had liked the script and the project. The actress also admitted that only the clauses remained to be negotiated.

“I only wish I had learned about this a little earlier,” the actress is quoted, “because I would have cleared my schedule for some other project. I had taken away dates from another film to accomodate the remake.”

The Pati Patni Aur Woh remake was reportedly helmed by Aziz, and produced by Juno and Abhay Chopra of BR Films. The film is based on the 1978 drama, Pati Patni Aur Woh, directed by BR Chopra.

The actress also refused to blame director Aziz for her ouster, stating, “He was just asked to ‘take someone else’.” However, she added that upon trying to confront the producers, they kept ‘putting off the conversation.

Pannu also dismissed any possibilities of her remuneration being an issue, as she states that it had not come up for discussion. The actress only sounded dejected as she stated that she would be ‘careful about signing films’, despite the script.

The actress is currently working on Mission Mangal, and also has Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla. The actress is also part of Womaniya, alongside Bhumi Pednekar.
