Total Dhamaal crosses Rs120 crore nett; Gully Boy reaches Rs130 crore nett

Total Dhamaal, Gully Boy and Uri: The Surgical Strike added to their box office collection in weeks after their respective releases.

Indra Kumar’s madcap comedy Total Dhamaal has surpassed Rs120 crore nett as the film picked up Rs3 crore nett on its second Tuesday to take its India business so far to Rs123.49 crore nett.

Released on 22 February, the Fox Star Studios production had a good first week where it pocketed Rs92.24 crore nett. Made at an estimated budget of Rs105 crore, Total Dhamaal was released on 3,700 screens in India.

The film has slowed down in its second week after collecting Rs31.25 crore nett in five days of its second week. As per sources, the film has a combined Rs52 crore satellite and digital rights deal with Star, while the music rights were sold to T-Series for Rs7 crore.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy picked up Rs65 lakh on its third Tuesday. The Excel Entertainment film has so far made Rs130.25 crore nett in its domestic business.

Made at an estimated budget of Rs75 crore, Gully Boy was released on around 4,000 screens in India on 14 February. The combined satellite, digital and music rights have been sold to Zee for Rs60 crore.

Remarkably, Vicky Kaushal-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019) has entered its seventh week and it appears that the film is close to the end of its run. Uri collected Rs30 lakh nett on its seventh Tuesday, to take its Indian business to Rs240.52 crore. It has surpassed Singh’s Simmba (2018) that made Rs239.84 crore nett in its India business.

Made at a modest budget of Rs28 crore, Uri: The Surgical Strike was released on 2,200 screens in India on 11 January. The RSVP production has recovered Rs14 through satellite and digital rights and Rs2 crore through music [all sold to Zee].
