Luka Chuppi collects a decent Rs2.85 crore nett on its second Friday

Despite competition from new releases Badla and Captain Marvel, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon-starrer Luka Chuppi had a good collection on its second Friday. Luka Chuppi made Rs2.85 crore nett on its second Friday. The film has so far made Rs55.95 crore nett in its India business so far.

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, Luka Chuppi is a satirical take on the concept of live-in relationships in small towns.

Made at an estimated budget of Rs25 crore, Luka Chuppi was released on 2,100 screens in India and 400 screens overseas. The film is already a hit.

According to trade sources, the combined satellite and digital rights have been sold to Jio Cinema for Rs15 crore, while the music rights were sold to T-Series for about Rs2 crore.

Indra Kumar’s multi-starrer madcap comedy Total Dhamaal, too, held its own on its third Friday, collecting Rs1.50 crore nett. Produced by Fox Star Studios, Total Dhamaal is all set to surpass Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer Gully Boy. Total Dhamaal has so far collected Rs130.24 crore nett in its India business.

Meanwhile, Gully Boy added Rs35 lakh nett on its fourth Friday, to take its India collection to Rs131.80 crore nett. Gully Boy is produced by Excel Entertainment.

Uri: The Surgical Strike also continued its run in the theatres. Produced by RSVP, the film has entered its eighth week. The action film, starring Vicky Kaushal, made Rs17.50 lakh nett on its eight Friday. The film has so far made Rs241.25 crore nett in its domestic business.
