Romeo Akbar Walter collects Rs2.50 crore nett on its first Monday

Actor John Abraham’s espionage thriller Romeo Akbar Walter has had got mixed reviews and the same can be said about its box office collection too. After four days, the film collected Rs23.50 crore nett at the domestic box office.

Romeo Akbar Walter, that made Rs8.50 crore nett on Monday, dropped over 70% on its first Monday to make Rs2.50 crore nett.

Made at an estimated budget of Rs34 crore, Romeo Akbar Walter was released on 2,000 screens in India. Produced and distributed by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the espionage thriller is based on the life of an Indian spy who operated in Pakistan before the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Hollywood release Shazam! didn’t make much of an impression at the Indian box office, collecting Rs13 crore nett in four days. Distributed by Warner Brothers, Shazam! had was released on 1,050 screens in India.

Holdover release Kesari picked up approximately Rs1 crore nett on its third Monday, to take its India business to Rs141.05 crore nett. Made at an estimated budget of Rs100 crore, Kesari was released on 3,600 screens in India. The combined satellite, digital and music rights for Kesari have been sold to Zee for Rs65 crore.
