Manyata’s real name is Dilnashin Shaikh and is recognized as Sara Khan in the Indian film industry. After her film Deshdrohi, which is an action comedy released in 2008, she got the screen name Manyata by a famous film producer Prakash Jha.

Career

Sara Khan started her acting career with a Hindi C-grade film ‘Lovers Like Us,’ directed by Gopichand, and is released in 2002. Later, Sanjay Dutt purchased the rights of this film for Rs. 20 lakh. Then, she performed as an item girl in the movie ‘Gangaajal,‘ directed by Prakash Jha in 2003.

Manyata also acted in a comedy drama movie ‘Mere Baap Pehle Aap,‘ directed by Priyadarshan in 2008. She had a hope that her performance as an item girl in ‘Gangaajal’ will help her to get success in the film industry, but then, she met Sanjay Dutt and decided to marry him. After marriage, she took the responsibility of her family and quit her acting career.

Controversies

Meraj-ur-Rehman, a writer in the Indian film industry claimed Manyata as his wife allegedly. According to Meraj, he got married to her in 2003 and also has a son from her, who is living in Dubai with Manyata’s relatives. As per his statement, she married Sanjay Dutt without divorcing Meraj.

Apart from this, when Goa district administration ordered to re-examine the marriage registration papers of Manyata and Sanjay, they found a false domicile certificate, submitted by Manyata. After this, they served a show-cause notice on her and asked her to explain why this certificate should not be cancelled.
