The British actress wanted to become an actor from her early childhood. She comes from an acting family, which is also a reason that she wanted to pursue her career as an actress. While Ella was 18, she went to the United States to meet her then-boyfriend, who was pursuing his career as a chef.
The actress’ trip turned into a tragedy when she figured out that she picked up a bug during her trip. Moreover, it was the duck salad or a tin of tuna through which she picked up the bug. After several weeks, Ella felt pain in her stomach, and all of her leg parts including toes, and feet were swollen up.
She was later hospitalized, where she figured out that she had picked a bug named Yersinia in her Intestine. Although the doctor said the bug would disappear soon, Ella had to take pain killers for over five years. Further, she was unable to walk for months and had to lie on bed all the time. Besides, when she finally was allowed to walk, she tried to join college and acting classes. But unfortunately, she had to stop learning due to her knee problems.
After a couple of unsuccessful tries, the actress managed to get a role after her health improved. Although she got the role, she was worried as she gained lots of weight due to lack of exercise.
