Sahil Khattar to don the gloves as Syed Kirmani for ’83

After Ranveer Singh and Tamil actor Jiiva, it is Sahil Khattar who will join Kabir Khan’s ’83 team. The YouTube star is set to play the role of wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani in the film led by Singh. The actor’s name was released by the makers on social media today. 

A YouTuber, Khattar began as a radio jockey before juggling jobs as television presenter, writer, and actor. He has two successful YouTube channels  — Khattarnaak and Being Indian. 

The actor will play wicketkeeping allrounder Syed Kirmani, who was a key player in the 1983 World Cup cricket tournament for India. Kirmani went on to win the best wicketkeeper award for the 1983 tournament, with key batting performances in the matches against Zimbabwe in Tunbridge Wells. 

The film is directed by Kabir Khan, and is set to be released on 10 April 2020.
