Actress Shweta Tripathi is set to reunite with actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Honey Trehan’s upcoming directorial debut, Raat Akeli Hai. The film will also feature Radhika Apte, who was last seen alongside Siddiqui in the popular Netflix original, Sacred Games.
Raat Akeli Hai film has already gone on the floors with Tripathi as the latest addition to a cast which also includes, Swanand Kirkire, Ila Arun, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and Padmavati Rao. The film is a period drama, set in the 1980s, and the actors are expected to wrap up the shoot by 25 March this year.
Confirming the development, Tripathi said, “Acting alongside Nawaz Bhai is learning. He is a master of the craft and makes you look good by just being in the same frame. I take it as an honour and opportunity to be working with him again in ‘Raat Akeli Hai’.”
The film is a noirish thriller with Siddiqui playing a police officer investigating a high profile case. Set in Kanpur, the film will see the co-stars from Haraamkhor (2017) team up once again.
