Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Leela Bhansali win top honours

Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali emerged as the big winners at the Zee Cine Awards 2019, as reported by IndiaToday.com. Kapoor bagged the Best Actor award for Sanju (2018), while Padukone bagged the Best Actress award for Padmaavat (2018). Sanjay Leela Bhansali picked the Best Director award for the period film. Interestingly, there is no word yet on who won the Best Film award.

Ranveer Singh picked the Best Actor Viewers Choice award for Padmaavat. Free Press Journal reported that Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress Viewers Choice award for Raazi (2018).

In the supporting category, Vicky Kaushal bagged the Best Supporting Actor (Male) for Sanju. The big surprise was Katrina Kaif winning Best Supporting Actor (Female) award for the dud Zero (2018).

Among the other winners was Tabu who was named Best Actor in a Negative Role for Andhadhun (2018). There was some consolation for lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana, too, for his blind act in Andhadhun earned him The Extraordinary Performer of the Year award.  
 
Andhadhun writer Arijit Biswas and director Sriram Raghavan picked the award for Best Story. In another award for Andhadhun, Pooja Ladha Surti picked the Best Editing award, as reported by Free Press Journal.

Kartik Aaryan won the Best Actor in a Comic Role award for Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018).

Ishan Khatter won the Best Debut (Male) for Beyond the Clouds and Dhadhak (2018), whiel Janhvi Kapoor won the Best Debut (Female) for Dhadak. Amar Kaushik won the Best Debut Director for Stree (2018).

In the music category, Yasser Desai won the Best Playback (Male) award for ‘Naino Ne Baandhi’ for Gold (2018). Harshdeep Kumar and Vibha Saraf picked the Best Playback (Female) award for ‘Dilbaro’ song from Raazi.

Veteran actress Hema Malini was honoured for her lifetime contribution to Indian cinema.

The telecast of the Zee Cine Awards will take place on 31 March at 12pm on Zee Cinema channel.
