Former MAMI director Srinivasan Narayanan joins Singapore South Asian Film Festival

Srinivasan Narayanan, former director of the MAMI (Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image) Mumbai Film Festival, has joined the Singapore South Asian International Film Festival [SgSAIFF] as festival director.

The third edition of the festival will be held from 30 August through 7 September this year.

Speaking about his appointment at the SgSAIFF, Srinivasan said in an official statement, “I have been following what SgSAIFF has done in the past two years and it is commendable that they have created a niche for themselves in the early years itself. I am looking forward to contribute and to take the success forward.”

Abhayanand Singh, chairman of the SgSAIFF, said, “We are happy to have him on board for SgSAIFF. With his experience, he will guide the team and bring value to the film festival that is known as an important platform for cinema in South Asia.”

Srinivasan served as festival director for MAMI from 2008 till 2014. He has been a festival programmer-director, international film distributor, journalist, producer and administrator.
