De De Pyaar De continues its run, earns Rs34.75 crore nett

The age difference between Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in Akiv Ali’s romantic comedy, De De Pyaar De (2019), is no hindrance for the audience as the film continued to earn over the weekend.

According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film managed to add Rs26.50 crore on the opening weekend making it the 8th biggest opening weekend of the year so far.

The film added Rs12.50 crore on Saturday, before the collections picked up further to take it to Rs14 crore on Sunday. This put the opening collections of Rs34.75 crore just behind that of Uri:The Surgical Strike (2019) which opened with Rs35.92 crore.

While De De Pyaar De does not have the same emotional draw as Uri, it seems to have struck the right chords. The film is likely to sustain its Sunday growth on the crucial Monday.

While the film has not grown at the same level in the mass markets of Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, its collections in Mumbai and Delhi assure the makers of a good pull in the metropolitan regions.

Meanwhile, Tiger Shroff’s Student Of The Year 2 (2019) is on the wane. The film ended its second weekend at the box office with Rs6 crore. The film managed a meager Rs2 crore on Saturday, and a Rs2.50 crore on Sunday to add to Rs1.50 crore on Friday.

The film has so far managed a collection of Rs60 crore approximately.
