The end of 2018 seems to have spurred a wave of celebrity weddings. Kapil Sharma has become the latest to announce that he will tie the knot with long-time girlfriend Ginni Chatrath on 12 December.
The actor-comedian shared a picture of his wedding invitation on his social media feeds.
“With great joy in our hearts and blessings of our parents, it gives us immense pleasure to announce that Ginni and I will embark on a new journey of love, respect and togetherness on 12th of December 2018,” he wrote.
The wedding will take place in Jalandhar, Chatrath’s home town, in Punjab followed by a reception in Delhi on 14 December.
Speaking to the IANS news agency, Kapil Sharma said, “The wedding is on 12 December in Jalandhar. That’s Ginni’s hometown. We wanted to keep it lowkey. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish.”
The actor and TV star met Chatrath during auditions at a college festival in Jalandhar back in 2005.
The wedding festivities will begin on 10 December, with a jagran to be held at the bride’s residence, before the actual ceremonies on 12 December.
