The Chicago Cubs manager was born as Joseph John Maddon Jr. His date of birth was on the 8th day of February 1954. It was documented that his place of birth was in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania.
From what we gathered, Joe’s family surname was initially Maddonini. It was Joe Sr. his Italian Father who decided that the family abandon “Maddonini” for “Maddon”. While Joe Sr. who passed on in 2002 worked as a plumber, it is said that Joe’s mom who’s of Polish descent was working as a waitress.
Joe’s interest in sporting activities was quite obvious when he was still a lad, as he grew older, his passion for the sports increased and ultimately saw him playing both football and baseball at Easton, Pennsylvania’s Lafayette College.

The former got married to Theo Bystry and they have so far, given birth to 3 of the baseball manager’s grandchildren (Tyler, Tre, and Carson). The latter’s partner is Natalie Maddon and the two are parents to the remaining two of Joe’s grandkids, Coral and Giuseppe.
Joe Maddon is very fond of his children’s children and has on several occasions, shared pictures of his granddaughters on social media platforms. Sometime in 2014, he shared a picture of Coral on twitter with a message that read: “How about my granddaughter Coral starting her modeling career!”
