While promoting Kesari, Akshay Kumar had admitted to doing a remake of the southern film once he wraps up Dharma Productions’ Good News. The film in question was the Hindi remake of Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana (2011). While Akshay is playing the lead, Kiara Advani has been tipped to play the female lead, as reported by film magazine, Cine Blitz.
Despite repeated attempts, Advani did not respond to our calls and text messages. A source close to the production, though, confirmed that Advani had been signed on for the project.
Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana (2011) is a horror comedy directed by the lead actor Raghava Lawrence. The story revolves around the life of a man who fears ghosts so much that he doesn’t step out after dark. He is then haunted by the ghost of a transgender who is seeking revenge.
The Kanchana remake is being produced by Tusshar Kapoor and Shabin Khan. The film is likely to be released in 2020.
