Actor Salman Khan and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap were honoured for their work on Bigg Boss and Sacred Games respectively at the first edition of the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore over the weekend.
The first season of Neflix’s Sacred Games won two awards for best direction (fiction) by Kashyap and best editing by Aarti Bajaj.Khan picked up the best entertainment host/presenter for Endemol Shine India and Viacom 18’s reality competition Bigg Boss, currently in its 12th season.
Other Indian programmes that won awards were Star India’s The Talwars: Behind Closed Doors which won best documentary series, Natural History Unit India’s The World’s Most Famous Tiger won best natural history or wildlife programme, Discovery Communications India’s Queens Of Comedy won best comedy programme and One Life Studios’ historical drama Porus won best telenovela or soap opera series.
Cartoon Network India’s Lamput also picked the trophy for best 2D animated programme or series, while the best current affairs programme or series went to NGC Network India’s The Last Drop: India’s Water Crisis. Finally, the best non-scripted entertainment was awarded to Greymatter Entertainment’s The Remix.
