Vijay Sethupathi, who has over half a dozen projects in his kitty in various stages of production, has signed his second Telugu outing. Sethupathi has already been cast in a pivotal role in Chiranjeevi’s upcoming magnum opus, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
Now, reports have emerged that Sethupathi has been roped in to play the antagonist in Vaishnav Tej’s debut film which was launched recently.
Vaishnav is the eleventh member from Chiranjeevi’s clan to enter the Telugu film industry, and his yet-untitled project will be directed by Buchi Babu Sana.
Apparently, it was the character that really convinced Sethupathi to take up the offer, despite his packed schedule with multiple projects.
The film, which will go on the floors very soon, will be a love story set against a rural backdrop.
“We want to transport the viewers to a new place and wanted to bring the best technicians on board to ensure a visual feast for the audience. The film will also mark the Tollywood debut of Manisha Raj, who will be essaying the female lead,” director Buchi Babu was quoted saying in an interview to Times of India.
Shyam Dutt of Vishwaroopam 2 fame will be taking on the cinematography, while the duo of Ramakrishna and Mounica, who worked in last year’s blockbuster Rangasthalam (2018), will be handling the production design.
Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in as the composer for the film.
