Actor Hrithik Roshan will sound the mahurat clap for the Marathi film Smile Please on 1 March at an event in Mumbai. The film is directed by designer-turned-filmmaker Vikram Phadnis. This is his second directorial venture after the Marathi film Hrudayantar (2017), which starred Subodh Bhave and Mukta Barve in lead roles.
Hrithik shares a close friendship with Phadnis. He had a cameo in Hrudayantar in which he played himself. The film is about a little girl suffering from cancer.
As her days are numbered, she expresses one of her last wishes, which is to meet her favourite actor Hrithik. The actor happily obliges and rushes to meet her.
Hrithik had also launched the trailer of Hrudayantar. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, on the other hand, had launched the film’s music.
Reacting to the gestures of the two actors, Phadnis had told The Indian Express then, “What Hrithik and Aishwarya have done for us, we are indebted to them. It was important for Hrithik to act in the film, and I am glad he chose to go ahead with it and do it. His role in the film is just beautiful.”
The cast of Smile Please will be revealed at the launch.
