Intriguing tale of 7 suicides in 7 years witnessed by 7 people

Debutant filmmaker Saurabh Sinha’s Marathi film Saavat looks like a mysterious supernatural thriller. The film stars Smita Tambe, Milind Shirole, Shwetambari Ghute, Sanjivani Jadhav, and Shitanshu Sharad among others.

As per the recently released title teaser, the story takes place in a village where seven suicides take place in seven years and only in the month of Shravan. To top this, there are seven witnesses; one for each suicide. Is this a mere co-incidence?

Although there are no visuals of the film in the teaser, it explains its mysterious plot. Going by it, the basic tale is certainly interesting and intriguing.

Before this film, Sinha has directed short films.

Tambe is a talented actress. Her last film Truckbhar Swapna (2018), in which she played a maid, turned out to be a dud. She has Nikhil Mahajan’s State v/s Malti Mhaske up for release.

Saavat will be released on 22 March.
