Koena Mitra slams actor for signing mercy petition for Yakub Menon

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is caught in a controversy after his comments against Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. In an angry Facebook post, the actor called him the ‘world’s worst behaved player.’ The comments came on the day India lost the second test match to Australia by 146 runs in Perth.

“Virat K is not only the worlds best batsman but also the worlds worst behaved player. His cricketing brilliance pales beside his arrogance and bad manners.. And I have no intention of leaving the country by the way,” wrote Shah on his official Facebook page.

Kohli came under tremendous criticism last month when he told a fan that he should leave India if he loves batsmen from other countries. Shah’s comments might be a reaction to that going by the last line of his post. If that is the case, it is surprising to see his reaction after more than a month of the incident.

As expected, Shah’s comments have angered cricket fans on social media as the actor is getting continuously trolled for his comments. Amidst this, a video of the actor getting annoyed at camerapersons at an event has also resurfaced as a question mark of his own behaviour.

In a latest update, actress Koena Mitra has slammed Shah for his comments and also criticized him for signing a mercy petition for terrorist Yakub Menon. “A forever frustated [frustrated] man who had signed “mercy petition” for Terrorist Yakub Memon….has crowned #ViratKohli as World’s Worst Behaved Player. Whatta slayer !!! [sic],” she said on Twitter.

This is not the first time that Shah has been embroiled in a controversy because of his comments. In 2016, he got slammed for calling the late superstar Rajesh Khanna a ‘poor actor.’
