Netflix shares a few episode titles

One of the intriguing things while watching season 1 of the web-series Sacred Games last year was the way in which directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane used Sanskrit words as titles for each episode.

Now, the much-awaited season 2 may not be far away as the OTT platform Netflix has released four posters from the web-series with Sanskrit titles.

All four posters were accompanied by the text, “Bolo ‘Aham Brahmasmi.’ 6 din mein sab kuch dikhayi dene lagega [Everything will be clear in six days].”

The first poster is titled Unaagamam. The others are titled Antara Mahavana, Katham Asti, and Bidalah-a-Gita.

Like in season 1, the words appear to have mythological references. While the meanings may be clear to those familiar with Sanskrit, what they tell fans of Sacred Games is that the second season of the crime saga may be near.

There is one change this time. Motwane will not be directing any episode, though he remains the show’s creative producer. Motwane has been replaced in the director’s chair by Masaan (2015) director Neeraj Ghaywan.

This Netflix Original series is based on author Vikram Chandra’s book of the same name. The series follows the journey of inspector Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) as he looks to avert a major catastrophe in Mumbai. Sartaj Singh was tipped off by gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) before his death.
