Actress Priyanka Chopra stopped by The Ellen Show to promote her upcoming rom-com, Isn’t It Romantic? (2019) but the actress ended up sharing a bit about her next project, a feature film on the spirited personality, Ma Anand Sheela, introduced to global audiences through the Netflix docu-series, Wild Wild Country.
“I’m developing a feature with Barry Levinson, and we’re developing it as the character of Sheela, [Osho’s] right hand woman, and she was just devious,” Chopra said, adding she would produce and star in it as the former spokeswoman of the Rajneesh movement.
It’s not clear whether Levinson, who won an Academy Award for Best Director for Rain Man (1988), will produce or direct the feature with her. Levinson last directed Rock The Kasbah (2015) starring Bill Murray and Kate Hudson.
The actress, who wore a white Vivienne Westwood dress for her appearance, chatted about her next role and recent marriage to singer-actor Nick Jonas. Degeneres teased Chopra about knowing and stalking her husband from a decade ago, and even included a cringe-worthy segment of Simi Selects India’s Most Desirable where a tarot card reader revealed her future husband.
Eventually, the host gifted the couple a wedding gift of Chopra and Jonas’s respective appearances on the show framed for their home.
Isn’t It Romantic? (2019), starring Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth, is due to be released on Valentine’s Day, 14 February.
