Aditya Roy Kapur, yesterday, shared a picture with actress Sanya Malhotra and director Anurag Basu, and captioned it as, “A new journey begins.” Malhotra too took to her Instagram account to share the same picture.
Malhotra and Roy Kapur have begun the shooting of their yet untitled film with Basu. It will be an anthology film in the dark comedy space.
In an earlier interview to IANS, Basu had said, “I am extremely happy to have found this talented new generation cast, though I will trust my old friend Pritam for music as always. It is my pleasure to be working with Bhushan Kumar for my next that is a dark comic anthology.”
Basu had previously made Life in a… Metro (2007) with an ensemble cast.
While there has been no official announcement, earlier reports suggest that Basu’s anthology film also features Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Pankaj Tripathi.
Roy Kapur’s last release was OK Jaanu in 2017, which failed to make a mark. His line-up of forthcoming films looks exciting though, with Dharma Productions’ period drama Kalank, Sadak 2 and now Basu’s anthology film.
Malhotra, in 2018, starred in the box office hit, Badhaai Ho and Vishal Bharadwaj’s Pataakha. The actress will next be seen in Ritesh Batra’s Photograph opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
