The signs online seem to point to actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan becoming David Letterman’s guest on the second season of his Netflix chat show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, With David Letterman.
The superstar will become the first Indian guest on Letterman’s new Netflix show. The host previously spoke with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan back in 2005 when she was promoting the US release of Bride And Prejudice (2004), directed by Gurinder Chadha, for The Late Show With David Letterman on the American network, CBS.
The first series was premiered last January with six episodes during its run. Letterman’s guests for those episodes were former US president Barack Obama, actor-filmmaker George Clooney, Nobel Peace prize-winner Malala Yousafzai, rapper Jay-Z, writer-actress Tina Fey and radio host Howard Stern.
According to the website, 1iota.com, Khan is expected to shoot for the episode on Thursday 16 May in New York City. American fans can try to book seats, free, for the live taping.
In 2016, Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment announced that Khan’s films under his banner would be exclusively available to the streaming platform’s global members. Red Chillies is also producing the web-series The Bard Of Blood, starring Emraan Hashmi, and the original film, Class Of ’83, for Netflix.
