Bhau Kadam, Pravin Tarde, Mukta Barve turn professional videographers in a light-hearted comedy

The trailer of debutant director Dr Saleel Kulkarni’s Wedding Cha Shinema induces a Barjatya-like feeling with its light-hearted moments born out of a wedding preparation.

The film is about the wedding of Prakash (Shivraj Waichal), whose family  hails from Saswad, with the Mumbai-based Dr Pari (Rucha Inamdar). The two fall in love and decide to get married soon.

A filmmaker Poorvi (Mukta Barve) arrives to shoot the pre-wedding events with a couple of companions (Bhau Kadam and Pravin Tarde), leading to a fun time between both families that is captured professionally by this video team. Some behind-the-scenes moments turn out to be quite funny.

The ignorance of the families about filmmaking and the relatively urban phenomena of pre-wedding shoots, leads to some unexpected funny moments. Going by the trailer, Wedding Cha Shinema capitalises on this ignorance, with some hilarious results.

Waichal and Inamdar make an interesting pair as characters hailing from diverse backgrounds. The supporting cast of Kadam, Tarde, Shivaji Satam, Alka Kubal and Sunil Barve looks impressive and quite perfect for their respective characters. Barve is usually seen in lead roles. It will be interesting to see how she adds value to her character in a supporting role.

Produced by Everest Entertainment, Wedding Cha Shinema will be released on 12 April.
